Is there a 1GB version of this device? I have read some posts that mention there is a 1GB, so before ordering I wanted to verify. Also do you have these in stock?
A couple of those I can answer now and hopefully the rest after the weekend.
does come rooted – I’m 98 percent certain as I’ve just been playing with some apps that usually ask for route access but none of the usual notifications come up (the ones that usually pop up if the device isn’t rooted) Yes google market comes on it, and as soon as you sign in it will upgrade to google play. So hopefully i can answer the rest on monday!
I’m still looking into this, the device and also android 4.0 has the provision for VPN in the settings and you can connect to the net so this will work fine, I will get on this in a later video, at the moment I’m trying to give the videos and introductory and basic feel so people get to know the device before they get into more advanced features and functions.
I don’t believe so. It’s the same issue that people using a dvd, blu ray, playstation or xbox will have. HDMI carries both the audio and the video.
As I think 9 out of 10 people will be using a tv with the device it makes sense to pimp out your tv’s sound rather than try to find seperate solutions.
(I run speakers from my TV’s output for better sound)
why wouldn’t it work? lack of drivers in android for touchscreen support?
I do need to connect the screen trough usb to the minipc…if even that is possible…
i really inspired by the device. For using, need mic and cam. As per your video, usb cam not working. so, any other sort of cam will work and how mic will work?
Hi Faisal, I think one way of getting certain devices to work will involve using another operating system – I’ll be going over that in other videos.
I’m going to prepare another five or so videos (and more to come after that, that detail some other questions / answers and uses) for the device.
OK no buy now links but no prices either for the 512mb or 1Gb models. Surely you can tell us that. I also note it says you were expecting stock about 10 days ago.. has that all sold or is it overdue? Do update us…
Is it possible that after having installed Linux on an sd card, I think you mentioned a custom lubuntu that you can then use this version of linux with a webcam to do video skype(ing?) calls?
Hey … I already have my android mini pc but I will like to ask … What is the different between android mini pc and the Pocket tv if it both run ice cream sandwich .. And the pocket tv can make video call Skype …!???
I recently purchased the MK802 Android 4.0 Mini PC. It didn’t take much time to fill the 32GB SD and I went to attach a external 1 Terabyte USB hard drive. All it did was make some tinking noises when the MK802 booted. I never saw any message saying it was attempting to mount it (this usb external drive works fine on a windows machine), and when I checked the settings storage section it didn’t seem to have recognized it or mounted it. I then attempted several usb flash drives of various sizes, and the best I got was a message saying to disable the usb storage. Then it unmounted the 32 Gb SD card. I suspect it’s the cable adapter i’m using to compensate between the usb port ends, but i’m not sure. What specifications do you recommend to use an external usb drive? Do you recommend a specific hub to account for the usb conversion types?

Great thanks, I will be ordering 1 shortly. Thanks!
Cool, I shall copy and paste a couple of these questions into the faq section.
Will a bluetooth dongle work with this device?
I’ll test that at the weekend dave
Hi Dave, i seem to be missing my bluetooth dongle, don’t know where its got to, might have to pick up a cheap one if you still need that testing.
Is it possible to set a VPN account with this device?
I’ll look into that over the weekend (looks like i’m going to be busy!)

Hi,
Is there any way to split the HDMI signal into separate audio/video (like jack or rca and dvi)?
I don’t believe so. It’s the same issue that people using a dvd, blu ray, playstation or xbox will have. HDMI carries both the audio and the video.

Would like to order one, wanna have some fun with android and my touchscreen…
how about the android app store? is it accessible?
What kind of touchscreen?
The app store is accessible, yes.
it’s a standalone iiyama ProLite T2250MTS
it will be very interesting to see if it does, but I would be doubtful – but then I’d have to see it to believe it!

it’ll certainly be an interesting experiment Ben!
